| China unveils record five "friendlies" for 2008 Olympics |

"Beibei," - the fish - symbolizes surplus and prosperity "Jingjing," - the giant panda represents Beijing's desire to protect the environment "Huanhuan" - symbolizes "the Olympic flame and the passion of sport" "Yingying," - the Tibetan antelope, and "Nini," the swallow, represent health and good luck.
Strung together, the five names spell out "Beijing huanying ni" — "Beijing welcomes you" — spreading a message of “friendship to the children of the world”. |
