China National Tourism Administration
China is destined to make new and greater achievements in the 21st century. Tourism in China is geared to stay abreast of all such developments in the new era.
With its thousands of years of civilization and variety of ethnic groups and customs, it is rich in tourism resources. China also has natural wonders that include magnificent mountains and rivers. Since the economic reforms and opening up to the outside world, the economy has grown rapidly. So is Tourism.
The World Tourism Organization (WTO) predicted that China will be No.1 tourist destination worldwide in 2020.  United States is one of the fastest growing markets – with 1,308,627 visitors to China in 2004 – representing 59.1% growth over 2003.
Travel China in the Brand-New Century
The turn of the century witnesses China’s tourism and travel industry marching into the new millennium. World Heritage Foundation has identified a large number of Heritage Sites in China, which are becoming very popular for the American visitors.
